NEET 2019 RULES FOR TIE – BREAKER

NEET 2019:


National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination, NEET 2019 would be conducted for admissions to undergraduate medical and dental courses in the country. The medical entrance examination would be conducted by National Testing Agency, NTA on May 5, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. More than 12 lakh candidates are expected to have registered for the examination. With such numbers, chances of students scoring same marks is high. Here is a look at how NEET 2019 rank would be calculated and what is the tie-breaker criteria.



RULES FOR TIE – BREAKER


In case of a tie in marks – the following rules shall act as tie – breaker


1.  Candidate having higher marks in Biology

2.  Candidate having higher marks in Chemistry

3.  Candidate having lesser number of attempted wrong answers

4.  Candidate who is older in age



NEET Result 2019 is expected to be released on June 5, 2019. The minimum NEET cut off marks to qualify the examination will be 50% (for General category) & 40% (for Reserved category). The results will be available at the official portal i.e. nta.ac.in in the form of score card. The scorecard for NEET 2019 contain candidates’ All India Rank (quota and category), overall & sectional marks and percentile. The counselling procedure will be started after the result declaration.


This year, NTA has scheduled the examination for May 5 in offline mode. Candidates qualifying the examination will have an opportunity to grab a seat into approximately 65,000 MBBS and 25,000 BDS seats in medical and dental colleges across India. There will be no provision of re-evaluation/re-checking of the answer sheets. After the declaration of cutoff, an All India Merit List will be prepared by NTA, containing names of qualified candidates with their corresponding NEET Rank.



NEET PG Cut off 2019 – The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is the responsible body for releasing the NEET PG 2019 cut off. The authority has released the result of NEET PG 2019 on January 31. Along with the result, the cut off of NEET PG has been released. The mode of release of the cut off of NEET PG 2019 is only online. The qualifying percentile for General category aspirants is 50 and its equivalent NEET PG cutoff scores is 340. The authority hiked the NEET PG cutoff 2019 scores for general category by 19 marks, while for SC/ST/OBC aspirants, minimum scores has increased by 14 marks. NBE, in a recent notice, has issued the exam statistics of NEET PG 2019.
